Focus:  The Business Impact Analysis (BIA), is an essential part of your business continuity and disaster recovery planning process.  Your BIA analysis will help you identify critical business functions and processes.  Once identified, your list is used to determine the financial and operational impact to your business if these critical functions are interrupted as a result of a disaster.  A well executed BIA raises your awareness of the consequences and potential operational risk of an interruption.  It will allow your organization to write a business continuity plan that is focused and cost effective.

An effective BIA is the cornerstone of your business continuity strategy and plan.  In this presentation we will discuss who should be responsible for writing the plan, what you should include in your plan and why a BIA is crucial to continuity plan design.  But, the focus of the discussion will be on how to write a plan.
