Building Access: You need a photo ID to present to building security. Putnam’s main reception is on the 12th floor. Focus: Recent assessments of Emergency Management programs throughout the nation have placed Massachusetts among the elite. Among the reasons that set the Commonwealth apart are the cooperative efforts among federal, state, local, public private, and volunteer agencies and organizations. This presentation will discuss Emergency Management in Massachusetts, highlighting such topics as its history; potential hazards; measures of preparedness, response, recovery and mitigation; the importance of Public/Private partnerships, as well our overall Homeland Security strategy. Peter Judge serves as the Public Information Officer for the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA). He initially joined the agency to develop and coordinate the Commonwealth’s public education campaign regarding ‘Y2K Preparedness’. His responsibilities include ensuring that the public receives accurate and timely information, precautions and instructions concerning impending and occurring disasters and emergencies. He takes the lead as the Agency’s media spokesman and assists in the coordination and presentation of a consistent message at the Joint Information Center (JIC) during large multi-agency/multi-jurisdictional events. Prior to joining MEMA, Mr. Judge worked for 12 years in Education and 17 years in Sports Marketing & Management. The Boston native is a graduate of Boston Latin School. He earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in both History and Education from Boston College, and a Master of Education degree in School Administration from Boston State College.

Enter tunnel and take exit 23 (Purchase Street). On the ramp stay right and at the traffic light immediately turn right crossing over Purchase Street and continue onto Oliver Street. Continue along Oliver Street through 1 set of lights and at the stop sign turn left on Franklin Street. Langham Hotel (formally Le Meridien Hotel) will be on your right. Pass the Langham Hotel and turn right on Pearl Street, One Post Office Square is immediately after the hotel. From points South: Exit Interstate 93 at exit 23 (Government Center). Upon exiting stay to the left on the ramp to the 1st traffic light (North Street). Go straight onto North Street and continue through the third set of traffic lights (Faneuil Hall Marketplace will be on your left). Turn left onto Congress Street to the 3rd set of lights (Milk Street). Turn left onto Milk Street, go 1/2 block to Pearl Street and One Post Office Square will be on your right. From the Massachusetts Turnpike: Take the Massachusetts Turnpike (Interstate 90) to left hand exit 24B, 93 North. (DO NOT EXIT AT PRUDENTIAL/COPLEY OR CONTINUE EAST TO SOUTH BOSTON AND LOGAN, GO TO 93 MERGE) Go underground on Interstate 93 North. Follow into tunnel to exit 23, (Government Center). Upon exiting stay to the left on the ramp to the 1st traffic light (North Street). Go straight onto North Street and continue through the third set of traffic lights (Faneuil Hall Marketplace will be on your left). Turn left onto Congress Street to the 3rd set of lights (Milk Street). Turn left onto Milk Street, go 1/2 block to Pearl Street and One Post Office Square will be on your right. Proceed one block down Winter Street (Downtown Crossing). Make a left onto Washington Street. Turn right onto Milk Street and proceed five blocks. One Post Office Square will be on your right. Blue Line or Orange Line Exit at State Street Station. Take a right down Congress Street. Take a left onto Milk Street and proceed one block. One Post Office Square will be on your right.
