Red Cross - Preparing for Disasters and Preparing Your Business for the Unthinkable

Focus: The meeting will begin with a short update from Don Byrne on ACP's role in the development of a national preparedness standard as called for by PL 110-53. Don is chair of the newly organized ACP Committee on Voluntary Certification and is the organization's representative to the ANSI National Accreditation Boards committee on this topic. Don will provide a short overview of the accreditation process and a summary of how the national standard is progressing.

Following Don's update, The American Red Cross will present "
Preparing for the Unexpected".  This presentation provides vital information to help people and their families prevent, prepare for, and cope with emergencies.  It follows the three components of the "Be Red Cross Ready" campaign:  Get a kit, Make a plan, Be informed.  We will discuss what items should be included in a disaster supplies kit, how to set up a communications plan, and also how to be better informed before and during disaster situations.
